peridot luke faulkener ! -------------------------------------- the universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.
the info peridot (peri, pear, pear-bear, dot, dotty) is a psychiatrist at white springs. he's gay, though certainly doesn't flaunt it, especially not at his job (his tasteful sense in fashion notwithstanding) he's incredibly respectful, though can be a bit too child-like for some. he's quite good at behaving maturely, though, and knows how to be firm.the friends peri provides his friends with the role of confidant, and generally refrains from harsh judgements if he can help it. it's rare for him to confide in others often, though, and will more likely gain insight into an issue from his own company. still, peri feels at times married to the job, and needs friends to help him relax and chill his brain out once in awhile.the lovers while not actively searching for a love interest, peridot isn't adverse to the idea. having refrained from dating since his father's death, he's not entirely sure who he is in a relationship anymore, but he's willing to try if given the chance. peri mostly finds older gruff men attractive, fyi <3 but he doesn't talk about that stuff to anybodyy, as it's embarrassing and "inappropriate". also he loves ballroom dancing.the enemies peridot sometimes can be a little too cheeky, and it's possible somebody could get butt hurt from something he's said. and because of his reluctance to throw pills at a patient and desire to talk, he's both one of the most loved and hated doctors. while some enjoy his joyful and often times light hearted visits, other patients resent his insistence and talkative nature.the patients come let peri fix youuu. he lives to help and nurture and spread the healing powers of laughter. he'd do the job for free if he didn't have to eat. peridot absolutely adores his patients (some more obviously than others) and genuinely wants to improve their state of mind. he's a shrink that believes in the healing of words over medicine, and rarely administers medication if he can help it. thank you noa ?! of caution![/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Veronica&&Peridot
okay, so Veronica is a bit skittish and would probably benefit from talking to someone like this. Maybe he could be her set psychiatrist and burst her out of her shell a little, or at least work with her on getting to know her life and such? Any ideas?

hello again. so, adrian is not a large fan of those happy cheeky kinds of people, and if ever in a therapy session with this doctor i don't see the two as getting along. of course adrian would try and remain civil, but the sarcasm and dry humor would surely be present. he doesn't understand people that can be so happy and understanding all the time and doesn't think it's natural. he wouldn't want a doctor in general trying to get into his head either, and that's what he would think would happen with peridot. nothing personal, adrian just isn't a big people person, especially when they're trying to cure him of something he enjoys.

peridot&& veronica'' bahhh veronica tugs at peri's heartstrings. he'll be very kind but enthusiastic with her, maybe overdoing the jokes on purpose or ordering pizza with a side of pie before sessions. pro'lly play it off all surprised and "i totally didn't order this but let's eat it anyway" because he hates waste or something. x3
but yes, i think that peridot would love to help this girl love herself 'cause he'll love her like crazy without aaany creepy connotations, for her hooty-looty lady parts do not interest him.
peridot&& adrian '' i think that peridot will adopt a more focused (but still with a certain degree of silliness) where adrian's concerned. he'll have bursts of "i believe in you!" cliche's though, so don't underestimate his patient-dedication policy.
he'll also be very bold and direct with his questions, waaay more so than he'd ever be with a more sensitive person. peri'd understand the only way he's gonna get anywhere is with earned respect from adrian, which sometimes means intruding upon someone's boundaries. so he'd be all "let's discuss your sex life" promptly followed by "now let's talk about your mother" or something equally entertaining.

peridot && austin
so, they are both staff members, so they are sure to have met one another. i think they could be pretty good friends for the most part. i could see them being pretty cool because they both want to help their patients out as much as possible. and maybe peridot could just talk to him as well. he never actually got legit 'help' for what he's gone through. the only person he's really talked to about it is his current girlfriend or his brother, however he died of brain cancer. yay/nay?

peridot&& austin '' peridot can eeeasily be friends with austin. C= even though peri's usually way more obvious about his sense of humour than austin would be, i think they'd both have this respect for each other grounded on their mutual desire to improve people's lives.
also peri's awesome with talking with people or something, so yeah, if austin's looking for someone to bounce his thoughts and feelings off of, this is your guy <3

Melissa and Peridot I was thinking that Melissa and Peri would get on well. Melissa is pretty cheeky too, and is pretty friendly towards most people, so even if he wasn't assigned to her or was giving her sessions, or whatever you'd like to call them; I think Melissa would make an attempt to try and talk to him regardless. She'd probably think of him as a security figure, someone she could go to if she was feeling particularly guilty or just needed to talk? :L Opinion, please? xD

peridot&& melissa'' bahhh i think mel will provide a very welcome break in the monotony of mistrust and suspicion peri normally gets from patients. and the fact that she'd go to him if she needed something off her chest or someone to protect her totally melts his heart. <3
not fatherly-figure exactly, but i like your "security-figure" thought. like a safety blanket or something :3

Melissa and Peridot Ah! Yes! That's exactly what I meant ! c: Almost like he's a comforting constant in White Springs, so she focuses on him a lot or..? I don't know, I'm just rambling now. Lemme know if you wanna thread this out! c:

peridot&& melissa'' iiii think this'd be fun. <3 maybe something happens to mel (she has an episode, feels cornered or overwhelmed, other forms of angst-inducing stress) and then bam there's peri obliviously wandering by when his "someone needs me" senses go off.
and then he heals her with laughter and smiles y/y?

Nathaniel & Peridot Considering his personality, I think Nate might actually trust him. Or at least in terms of someone professional. I have a really awesome idea in mind if you're interested, I'll PM you about it. Nate's always been sort of the 'black sheep' where he came from so it'd be nice if they could be friends. But Nate's also the type you have to pry at to get information out of. Could be interesting?

Lily & Peridot !
I don't need no doctor - - - - - - - - (acquaintances)- - - - - - - - - - - - - Although you have this good nature in you to want to help all of your patients, have you ever thought that some of us don't want your help? I mean, don't me wrong, you're one of my favorite out of all the doctors because you're pretty laidback and you have better chemistry with your patients, but every time when I am forced to go see you for therapy, I don't take a great liking as to how you keep trying to pry me open and dig deeper and to find some good in me.
No matter how many sessions we have together, among with other sessions I have with the other therapists I have to see, I will never open up to you.
So, here's word of advice. Not everyone can be fixed. I am unfixable; a shatter mirror broken into billions of tiny pieces. Super glue won't fix me. So, to not waste your time, I'd advise you to stop. Just saying, move on to your other patients who need more help than I do.
Aside from all of that, I have nothing against you. Just stop wasting your time on me, kay?

Theo & Peridot To be honest, Peri would honestly fit perfectly in the friend category for Theo. They both have really similar personalities, and really love helping the patients out. While he's not a psychiatrist yet, he's studying to be one so he might look up to Peri and seek advice from him. He's not the type to just throw pills at patients either. Theo's a bit of a whimsical and charismatic personality, and incredibly talkative. I think he'd absolutely adore having Peri as a friend.

So I was thinking that Robin could be one of Peri's patient's, but with that being said Robin would also despise him, as the teenager is certain that he doesn't have any problems, and Robin will hate that Peri is keeping him locked up here.
