I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs His second official day here. Theo walked down the halls of White Springs carrying his guitar case toward the doors. It was relatively early, but not so early that no one would be awake. He figured it would be a good time to relax a little and play guitar. Theo had heard about a fountain and looked at a map of the place last night before bed. Theo pushed open the doors with his usual thoughtful smile in place as he made it outside. Squinting momentarily at the light, and inhaling the mildly chilly air since it wasn't late enough in the morning to be too warm yet.
Theo wandered down the path, looking a little bit less than hopelessly lost until he heard water before seeing it. So he followed that sound until he reached the fountain. No one was there yet, which made him a little sad but also a little more relaxed. Theo wasn't nervous about playing his guitar for people, but he was still the newbie so it was expected to be a bit nervous, right? He had chosen to wear a loose fitting tank-top today. So a clear view of his tattoo sleeve was there. He'd already gotten a few disapproving and interested looks from those awake.
He didn't care, his self expression was more important to him. It made him more of a real person to be himself in his opinion. Theo sat on the edge of the fountain with a heaved sigh as he set the guitar case down on the ground. Flicking the latches open with a clack, the hinges creaking a bit upon opening the lid. Theo's smile widened as his acoustic came into view. Reaching down he picked it up and pulled the pick out of the strings. He wasn't here to play anything serious. Just relax. Theo strummed the strings slowly to check that they were still tuned.
Thankfully they were, and tuning could be a real pain in the ass. But he was lucky this time. Theo looked back up surveying the area, before glancing at his frets with a smile. He began playing one of his favorite songs that he wrote, it was a mellow melody with some soothing harmonies. Only his acoustic could bring out this sound for him, and honestly it was the one he most enjoyed. For anyone nearby, he was tuning them out for now. With a wide and interested smile as his fingers danced over the strings and onto the frets playing the rather simple melody, half a mind to start singing like he used to. But his nerves got the better of him, and he just decided to play for now.

DREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Jake was sitting under a tree with a blank journal in his hands. They had told him that it might be a good idea to write down his thoughts, or even to just keep it near him in case he needed to write something down. Of course he didn’t touch it at all yet, he had only stared at it for an hour this morning, and in the library the other day for a few hours. There was a orderly hanging around him, in the general area just keeping an eye on him.
Truly he shouldn’t be out here. He’s a level three. He’s not supposed to have access like this, but because it was so early, and he couldn’t sleep, they agreed to let him out as long as he behaved, and that the second more people began coming outside he’d go back inside. He knew it was for safety. They didn’t want him doing something stupid, and they didn’t want other kids to influence him. He knew why they were doing it, but he wasn’t going to do any of that. He was perfectly fine.
He had already made the decision in his head that he wasn’t going to cut ever again because it wasn’t very productive. He heard the strumming of a guitar and he looked up and listened again before seeing the neck of the guitar sticking out from behind the fountain. He went over and sat just on the other side with his knees up to his chest and holding his legs. The notebook was sat next to him by the orderly so that he wouldn’t forget it because they wanted him to use it.
He smiled at the sounds of the music before humming along with it, getting lost in it. He loved listening to music, although he couldn’t readily listen to it here because they had taken all of his possessions that weren’t allowed. Which included his iPod in case he decided to use it against himself somehow, maybe if someone shattered the screen they could use it to injure himself, but once again, he didn’t plan on it.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo had noticed someone moving closer to him, but he chose to ignore it for now. They didn't come and actively engage him yet. Becoming more and more engrossed in his guitar, his smile seemed to be frozen in place now though. Pure enjoyment, this was absolutely one of the few things he really enjoyed doing on his own. Theo eventually changed songs to one he'd learned when he was younger. The people he was offering to play guitar for had wanted to cover a song and so he began to strum to a different pattern. To him it was relatively familiar. The intro wasn't very long after all, but he wasn't even sure if he remembered all the lyrics anyway. So he'd just go with it.
"My heart is sinkin, as i'm lifting up above the clouds away from you.... " Theo stumped himself already, and his strumming paused as he began to laugh aloud at his own failure. He really should have kept the lyrics, the guitar was rather simple, but now he felt a bit embarrassed. He'd only just started playing too, but that could wait. Now he was burning with curiosity to know who was hanging around him while he was playing if only for a short time. Theo arched his back a bit, twisting it in such a way that he spotted a darker haired teen sitting nearby with a .. something in his hands?
Theo's smile remained while his brows knit together in interest. Wondering about what he was doing out here at this time of day, he remembered himself had liked sleeping in. Theo shrugged and untwisted his body, reaching up to weave the pick in the strings carefully before returning his guitar in its case. Latching it with less hassle than earlier. He wasn't done for today, but for now as he'd hurt his own pride. Theo chuckled again as he got up and moved to the other side of the fountain slowly. He didn't like startling people, but he did like people. Theo sat down next to the other boy with a comfortable space between them.
"Eh, what are you doing up so early? Don't like sleeping in?" Theo's smile seemed to widen to his natural warm charismatic one. He carefully extended his hand, trying not to seem weird about it, but somehow he felt weird. Usually he shook hands with people, so he just stuck to what he knew. "I'm Theo.. " His smile became a bit awkward as his facial features fumbled as he struggled to figure out what face to make. Being the newbie wasn't exactly very easy. He was still a bit nervous and settling in. But he hoped he'd made a good first impression on this kid already. "What kind of music do you like? Sorry, I ask a lot of questions.. I hope you don't mind." Theo smiled thoughtfully again as he now waited for a response.

He heard a guy start singing and he bit his lip before hearing him stop and laugh. He scrunched up his nose and shook his head before hearing him move around. He heard a clasp close and he looked and didn’t see the guitar neck anymore. He grabbed his notebook, getting ready to leave before the person caught him before he heard him laugh and he looked up at him.
“Oh. I’m sorry” he said before setting his feet back on the ground and moving to go stand up and leave. When he asked why he was up he shrugged his shoulders. “I couldn’t sleep. I don’t particularly like it here, and I’m not use to it” he said before playing with his notebook by bending the corner back and forth.
“Jake” he said quietly before shrugging when he asked his other question. “Depends on the sound really. I don’t like one particular genre, it’s mostly what sounds good to me” he said before looking at him then returning his attention back to his notebook. “What about you? Do you play anything, or only play what you like?” he asked before setting the notebook back down next to him and just fiddling with the edge of his shirt and the bandage. His mind was pulled away from the conversation and onto the bandage when he pulled it up slightly. He wanted it off now, and he wanted it to heal. He didn’t want a scar there either. He had the stars on the inside of his arm, and the stitches went through one of them.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo was watching Jake without really having his eyes fixated. He'd look away every now and then, he wasn't too worried. But the other boy seemed uncomfortable already. Theo wasn't scolding him, and smiled faintly as he leaned backward. Holding onto the edge of the fountain so that he didn't fall in. Not that he would've really minded all that much to begin with. Nah, usually stuff like that made the day more fun. Theo inhaled softly as he listened to Jake ask him a question. It was an interesting answer and question after all. It made him kind of miss when he'd been in a band. Reckless teenage years that he missed so much.
Theo turned his head a bit, watching Jake fidget nervously. "I wasn't scolding you. I just remember when I was a teen.. I slept in as much as I could. I also got as many tattoos as I could. Sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. You can relax if you'd like, I just kind of like talking anyway. I don't know too many here yet. I'm the newbie." He faltered a bit at the end of his sentence. Chuckling a bit, it always made him nervous to admit to being the newbie for anything. It just made him sound inexperienced and in turn people doubt him. Theo lost his focus for a moment and his grip on the fountain, leaning back too far he almost fell in.
The expression on his face actually turned to mild fear, as his fingers scraped at the fountain to keep himself upright. Theo finally regained his grasp with one hand before he started laughing and siting back upright again. "Whoops. That sort of stuff happens a lot too... Uhm, I guess I play what I like.. But I also like playing songs that other people like. I guess I want to be sure someone enjoys what I'm playing, than to play something they dislike. Or you know, fail like I just did there... Eh, if there's nothing you'd dislike me seeing .. in that.. could I see it?"
Theo hadn't been looking at Jake again, but he looked at him again. He had a pretty relaxed expression on his face when he asked. He didn't want to seem too pushy. Theo knew that at times he could honestly seem pushy, but that wasn't his intention. He also noticed that Jake was fidgeting with something on his wrist, but despite the curiosity didn't peer over like he normally would have. After all, he was the newbie. He didn't really have a right to question him if it wasn't suspicious anyway. "Don't have a favorite song then?" Theo asked finally asked. He had an idea in mind, and hoped it wasn't too painfully obvious.

He knew he wasn’t, but he still was nervous about being here. He didn’t want to be here based on the fact that there was nothing wrong with him. No matter how many times he tried explaining that he accidentally went too far, and he wouldn’t go that far again, they wouldn’t believe him. “I have a hard time sleeping here, and I still fit under the reckless teenage category. I have tattoos up both arms.” he said before shrugging.
He bit his lip when he said that he was the newbie. He was as well, and he didn’t like it here at all. He didn’t understand why anyone would want to work here on their own free will. He looked over at him when he almost fell in and he saw him sit up again laughing. “Like I said, I like anything really, it just depends on the sound and how well it works. There’s nothing in it. It’s empty. They want me to use it, but I can’t.” he said before pushing it towards him more.
It was true. The 70 page notebook was completely empty, although there were some marks that looked like he had start to write or scribble a drawing, or something, but it was still completely empty. As his attention was taken away from the conversation he began drawing little designs on his wrist around the stitches and the cut before completely zoning out. He wasn’t really thinking anything at this point, but he couldn’t hear Theo ask anything as well. He closed his eyes and kept drawing his finger across the stitches and cut before he heard a loud slam and the door to the building open.
He jumped slightly and opened his eyes to seeing a bunch of kids pouring out of the building. Obviously they had just woken up and ate breakfast before coming outside. Even thinking of the cafeteria made him feel sick, and he looked at the orderly that had followed him outside before biting his lip. “I’m supposed to go inside now I guess?” he said before looking back at Theo, not realizing that he had been talking to him while he zoned out. “Being a level three means I shouldn’t be outside anyways, but I was given permission until the others woke up” he said before standing up.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo took the journal as it was handed to him. He didn't waste any time, and while it may have seemed like he wasn't listening, he was. Jake repeated himself to the music comment, and then fell silent. Which was okay with Theo, since he began drawing rather quickly with a pen he'd pulled out of his pocket. He couldn't help but smile widely and pause his drawing to look up at Jake. He was playing with something on his wrist again, but Theo was still going to just not question it yet. After he knew Jake more, maybe then he'd question him a bit, or ask him more. But for now he was content. "Oh wow, really? That's awesome! Like sleeves, or just a few here and there? Either way that's good. It's important to express yourself somehow.." Theo finally dropped his gaze back to the notebook.
When the doors slammed open, he jumped as well, although he lifted the pen out of habit. If he ruined the drawing he'd be pretty upset. But it seemed fine, and he didn't see much else he could do anyway. He frowned slightly at the comment about him not being allowed outside. But level three was listed as pretty serious here. Theo replaced the pen back in his pocket and offered the journal back to Jake. He'd doodled a relatively accurate Spiderman in the bottom right corner of the first page. Theo couldn't give up being a kid himself. Theo glanced at the other orderly he was with, he felt bad for not acknowledging his fellow co-worker so he nodded to him.
"Ah, that's pretty lame. Where are you going next? Just back to your room? .. I know this might sound kinda weird but uh... Mind if I hang out with you for awhile? I don't have anything to do today.. and Uh.. you're kinda only the second person that's held a conversation with me.. and you seem like a pretty cool kid. I wouldn't mind getting to know more about you.. Or .. you know.. find someone who'll listen to me ramble on I guess without getting really frustrated with me." Theo glanced away a bit shyly now. His anxiety was creeping back up but he tried to force it back down.
As if he'd forgotten something, he held out his arm a bit quickly. The arm with the sleeve on it, which mostly consisted of a few snakes and some text, and then on one part of his arm was a flaming unicorn. Actually running across his wrist, it made him smile sheepishly at the memory of that one. That was a, very interesting day for him. "Gotta be a reckless teen first.. It's fun to learn lessons yourself... I uh, can walk you to wherever though... I mean if you don't mind." The last part he looked to the other orderly for. It was a question for the both of them but even then, he just wanted something to do. Some form of human contact. "... Uhm.. Spiderman is awesome.. Sorry, he's really fun to draw..." Theo added seemingly randomly, and looked away. He probably should plan to take his meds soon, he had them on him. But, he sometimes liked to see how he did without them for a few hours.

He didn’t know why he was getting nervous over Theo looking in his blank journal, but for some reason he was. He wasn’t sure if it was because it was his and someone was looking through what was supposed to be private, or he was worried that he would judge him on not using it. “Just a few here and there, but they’re only on my arms” he said quietly.
When he handed him back the journal he looked in it and smiled. He didn’t know if he could draw, but he doubted it. He never spent anytime practicing, so he was probably horrible. Jake shrugged when he asked where he was going. He didn’t know, but it wasn’t the cafeteria. Although he knew they would try to get him to eat breakfast. If he kept his female orderly he could purge if they did make him eat, but with Theo he couldn’t. Theo could follow him in, but Theo probably didn’t know why he was here, as he had said, he was new.
“I haven’t figured out where I’m going. Probably my room though. I guess you can come, I don’t really have a reason to say no” he said as he pulled the bandage back down and hid the stitches. When he held out his arm he smiled at all the ink across his skin. He moved his hand out to run it along one of the designs, but he pulled it back and bit his lip. “Sorry, um you can take me back if you want. I guess I really don’t have a say, one on one and all” he said before looking at the female. He was giving up the possibility to purge if they made him eat. This wouldn’t be good in the long run since he couldn’t eat food and keep it down. “Oh its fine. I wish I could draw like that, but I doubt I can” he said before standing up and grabbing the journal off the bench. “So off to my room?” he asked before looking up at him.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo's smile widened when Jake smiled a bit, the drawing must've been the source. But he didn't mind it at all, it was better when someone smiled anyway. He was also pretty happy or maybe relieved that Jake had said it was okay for him to come hang out. Theo's anxiety had subsided a bit with that, and decided he'd just take his meds once he got back inside. He shouldn't tempt these things after all, off his meds he was reckless still. He took the notion that Jake still felt somewhat apprehensive. But he smiled again when Jake reached out to touch, or trace one of his tattoos. Theo didn't mind, he just sat there and pulled his arm away after Jake was seemingly done. Standing up himself and retrieving his guitar case as he nodded again to the orderly nearby. Trying to show he'd be taking Jake back now, just in case she wasn't aware.
"Sure, let's head back to your room. I might ask for the notebook again though.. If you don't mind. Even if you don't have a say in one on one, I'm pretty glad you let me hang out with you." Theo kind of felt awkward at that but he was being honest. Which was important right? Or make people think you're totally weird, and NOT like you. Theo's smile faltered for a moment as he looked away, he didn't know which room Jake was in. So he should probably ask, right? Theo was already kind of struggling with his emotions, but he needed to just focus for a few more minutes. "Ah, everyone can draw. Not everyone can draw well, that takes practice. Do you have a favorite superhero?" Theo actually laughed a bit at his own question.
He felt really awkward now, skipping taking his meds first thing really was a bad idea. But he enjoyed guitar so much more without them. "Uhm... You can lead the way, right? Or.. I'll walk next to you or whatever. .. Did you catch breakfast, or are you hungry?" Theo was asking casually, he didn't want to ask Jake why he was in here just yet. He was the type of guy he wanted to get to know you a little better before he launched any serious questions at you. He was generally pretty careful with people and questions. Or he tried to be.
Theo wasn't particularly hungry himself this morning. Not that he knew what they all had here. Since he didn't eat meat, it was probably also a good idea to ask. "I don't know if you've been here very long, but uhm.. do you know if this place is vegetarian friendly? If there's meat, I"m not having any of it." He made a slight face at the thought of it, and then his smile returned to his face, but he knew it felt a bit forced himself. Now all he had to do was wait for Jake to respond again. "Eh, it's fine if you want to take a closer look at my ink when we go to your room. Mind if I ask to see yours, or are you kinda, uhm I don't know how to explain it. Is that weird for me to ask I guess?" Theo was getting anxious again, even more each time he fumbled over some words.

I really wouldn’t be doing anything now anyways. And besides, that girl isn’t as nice” he said before walking into the building again. He looked at Theo and bit his lip before shaking his head and looking away again. “I can’t draw that well then I suppose” he said before shrugging. He didn’t really pay attention to superheroes. “I don’t really pay attention to them, but I guess um… batman?” he said before shrugging again.
“Yeah, I can lead the way. Um, I don’t really ever eat breakfast. So I’m not hungry” he said before looking at him again and shrugging. He didn’t really ever want to eat, so eating breakfast was out of the question. He truly didn’t understand how making him eat, then get sick later, because his body couldn’t handle or stand the food, was a good thing. Bulimia was worse than anorexia in his mind. At least if you starved yourself nothing bad would happen but you would lose weight. With Bulimia the stomach acid would eat up the esophagus and eventually cause major harm. He wasn’t harming himself in any way.
Jake nodded when he asked about the meat. “I see other food than meat. I don’t usually eat meat either, and I’ve still been able to eat here” he said before shrugging. He didn’t like eating meat because usually it was more calories than a salad or some fruit. When he asked about his tattoos and seeing them he bit his lip. He didn’t know what to say. If he showed them, he’d see the cut and the stitches, but if he didn’t he would think he was weird.
“Um… I guess I can show you as long as you promise not to ask about something” he said quietly before looking at the ground. When they reached his room, he opened the door, and since he wasn’t allowed to lock it because of safety reasons, there wasn’t even a lock on his door like there would be normally for a room. He went and sat down on his bed before running his finger along the edge of the bandage.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo listened a bit more casually as he spoke about the cafeteria. He was pleased though that it wasn't all meat here, not that he expected it to be. But the world wasn't exactly vegetarian friendly so. He shrugged slightly, he wasn't sure again what Jake was here for. But he seemed a bit hesitant, ah well. Theo couldn't blame him either, he didn't like eating around people much himself. Not that he thought he himself was overweight or anything, he was just awkward. Of course you are.... That's why it's hard to get along without a crutch. He tried to keep the thoughtful smile on his face as he followed Jake into the building and to his room. Not much happened anyway, he was okay for now. Though his anxiety was getting worse, that was a given. Theo set his guitar case down against the wall by the door before closing it, making sure his case was out of the way. He then went to join Jake on the bed he sat on, assuming now that it was Jake's bed.
Theo's brows furrowed a bit, but he nodded a bit. He hadn't commented yet about the Batman comment, although it was his favorite as well. He probably wouldn't hugged Jake if he knew him better, even then that's pretty weird. He'd probably save that for later. "To be honest, I'm not much of a pushy person. I mean... I ask a ton of questions... but I dunno, it just seems really stupid to expect someone to tell you their problems or things from the past if you don't even know them. More of a trust thing I guess.. I like making friends with people before I ask any ... testy things.. So if I ask anything that makes you uncomfortable, just tell me and we'll talk about something else. I won't ask about whatever it is, if you want to tell me that's your choice." Theo smiled a bit but it twitched and faltered.
Reminding him that he needed to take his medication. Before any of this got any worse. So he slowly moved his hand into his pocket, retrieving a bottle that obviously rattled, taking out two of the pills that were in it. Theo replaced the cap on it and placed the bottle back in his pocket as deep as possible. Tossing the pills in his mouth and threw his head back, he was a bit embarrassed by it but it was necessary. Theo made a slight face as he brought his head back to a normal level. Glancing sideways with his eyes instead of his head.
"Uhm.. I guess that'. . I'm not a drug addict... I.. just one of the unlucky people that suffer from depression.. So... I'm pretty successfully treated though.. Sorry though, I forgot to take it earlier and.. Things get pretty rough for me without it... But anyway.. enough about that.. I"m pretty boring to talk about and, I"m sure your tattoos are interesting, yeah? By the way, I love Batman.. I just can't draw him." Theo crossed his legs and kicked his shoes off in the process out of habit. He hated shoes on the bed, tucking his feet under his own legs. He hooked his fingers on his legs and rocked backwards a bit which seemed to be a habit for him. "Hope.. you don't mind that either... I have this.. uhm...I guess extreme dislike for having shoes on beds. More my mom's nagging to never have them on furniture." Theo's gaze finally returned as he felt himself relax a bit more, he somehow still felt he was pushing too much on Jake. But he'd just let him tell him if he was. Jake didn't have to let Theo join him, but he appreciated it.

It was out of the way, but it didn’t really matter. When he joined him on his bed he bit his lip. When he started talking Jake became more nervous. He wasn’t sure why, but he didn’t want him asking him a ton of questions about why he was here. He was still nervous of the possibility of showing him his tattoos just because of it all.
Jake turned his attention to his hands and was playing with the bandage again when he heard the rattle of pills. He quickly looked up and shook his head. He hoped that he wasn’t going to tell him to take this medicine, because he truly didn’t need it. When Theo took them it confused him. It didn’t make any sense. As he explained the pills he nodded. It seemed weird that his orderly was still in recovery in a way, but it also showed that he was human.
“I guess my tattoos are interesting….” he said before shrugging. He didn’t really want to show him because of the bandage, and because he’d have to take off his shirt. He shrugged when he talked about shoes on the bed. “It doesn’t really bother me, but it doesn’t mean I’ll sleep with shoes on” he said before laughing a little.
Jake played with the edge of his shirt contemplating taking it off and showing Theo or just telling him another time. Of course he did take his medicine in front of him which could be very scary in a way. He was trusting Jake enough to let him know. He slowly pulled his shirt over his head before using the shirt to cover his bandage. He felt extremely self conscious with Theo just looking at him and he bit his lip before moving his gaze to his lap and playing with his shirt. “They’re just randomly along my arms, nothing special” he said before bringing his shirt back up to cover himself again.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo admittedly was still anxious, he leaned over his crossed legs, resting his elbow on his right leg and resting his jaw on his fist. He didn't want to seem like he was judging the kid, but more keep his body language relaxed. He felt more worried the kid wondered about why he was such a screw up himself. Theo watched him, but not staring at him. He fidgeted, and covered one part of his arm with his shirt, but he promised he wouldn't ask. His lips twitched into a smile at the tattoos, they were pretty interesting. Theo had to admit that he liked them definitely. He also took a note that the boy was rather thin, but he didn't comment. "Yeah, they're pretty interesting. I like them. When'd you get your first?"
Theo straightened his posture, holding out his arm again, when he noticed the boy putting his shirt back on. Jake, not the boy. Theo had to remember that as well. He pointed to the one near his flaming unicorn. It was a small faded heart with two names on the inside of it. Reading: "Lisa & Samantha." He bit his own lip and let out a nervous laugh. "First one I got, the day I turned eighteen. I made sure my mom's names were put in it." He felt a bit conscious himself now and pulled his arm to rest on his knee. Relaxing his posture again.
"Well.. I guess, is it okay if I ask why you're here? If not then, mm what'd you do back home.. Like hobbies, or where'd you come from even? You know you can ask me stuff too. I don't know if you've noticed but I really don't know how to stop talking." Theo cracked a wide grin and winked at Jake with a slight laugh. His mood seemed to be improving a little each minute. Thankfully his anxiety was fading away. But he was a bit glad that Jake didn't mind feet on his bed. "You know.. I had this friend, well we're still friends but, he wouldn't allow me to even have my feet on his bed. Wouldn't ever tell me why either. So I guess I just ask that when I sit somewhere.." Theo's face changed to a puzzled or maybe pondering expression but returned to his relaxed and easy-going smile. "Eh, got any questions for me? Cause we both know I probably can't answer many about this place. Oh, oh wait! Do you like pets, or have any at home...? Ah. Sorry." Theo chuckled a bit. It was probably pretty obvious how talkative he was. He didn't mean anything by it, he just really couldn't shut up.

[style=font-family: times; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: lowercase; color: #989898; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;] 364 WORDS FOR THEOHis parents hate him and caused him to be how he is.... they think of him as a disgrace so that's why he tries to be better in everyway. DREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Jake smiled when he said that they were pretty interesting and pointed through his shirt to the one on his wrist, the sparrow. “This one was my first, I have a matching one on the other wrist with some stars as well” he said before he put his shirt on. When Theo held out his arm again he saw a heart with names in it. He always promised himself never to get a name tattooed on himself because it was too permanent and people weren’t trustworthy enough to stick around to have it on himself forever. “I got my first one at 16. Illegal and all, but my mom let me because I told her that they symbolized the freedom that I wanted, like a bird flying free in the sky. But they never gave me the freedom I yearned for.”
Jake bit his lip when Theo asked the one question he didn’t want him to answer. He shook his head before looking down and playing with his shirt again. “I like music. And my family moves often, so I’ve lived in plenty of places. But I’ve been wondering one thing…. Why do you want to work here?” he asked before looking up at him again. He truly couldn’t understand why anyone would want to work in a place like this. He didn’t want to be here at all, and didn’t understand how someone could come here on their own free will. The only reason he was here was because the hospital had deemed himself a hazard to himself, and that he couldn’t take care of himself, so the decision was left for his parents, and since he was nineteen, he couldn’t stop it. Once they deemed him a hazard he was done for.
“That’s stupid. I don’t understand the reasoning behind that at all.” he said before shrugging. “No pets. My mom doesn’t like pets, but I wish I could have one. My parents don’t really like anything though, so it doesn’t surprise me. And with moving everywhere doesn’t help much either. We probably couldn’t keep a pet in half the places we live.” he said before shrugging and looking down again.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo listened pretty carefully to Jake talk about things, answering his questions. He wasn't surprised that he didn't feel like sharing why he was here. Theo figured though maybe Jake would come around and let him know. It wasn't like he was going to snoop on him either. He was capable of that, but he felt dirty doing something like that. At the comment about his friend he actually laughed a bit and shrugged. "Not many things that friend does makes much sense. Quirkiest person I've ever met." Theo nodded as if to confirm this was his absolute thought about his friend. He thought it was a bit unfortunate that Jake moved around so much. Theo liked having one place to come back to, one place to call home.
Theo was mostly nodding as Jake was talking, it was probably the quietest he'd been since he' gotten here. "Oh.. boy I probably should've expected a question like that. Well... It's kind of complicated to answer that without letting you... know I guess how I even got here... I mean, I'm twenty-six now. But if you would've seen me like... eight years ago. I was the most reckless person ever. I took up an amateur job as a stuntman for one of my friends in college for film. No training or anything. I just guess I didn't care at the time. One of those days I got into a pretty serious accident and it honestly could've killed me. The whole time I just thought I was fine and you know.. figured ah who cares, if I die then I die... Anyway I was laid up in the hospital for around 3 months and then had 3 months of therapy plus a few years of follow up visits. Diagnosed with depression when they evaluated me.. And after they found the medication that worked best with me I kind of realized.. You know that helping people was something I wanted to do. I wouldn't be alive if I hadn't gotten in that accident because I would've kept doing reckless things.... Which I do off medication anyway so haha that's probably good I stay on it. I guess I want to be there for people, because its pretty lonely and pretty scary by yourself."
Theo surprised himself just opening up like that. But then again, he didn't have any reason to hide it. It was a major reason he wanted to help people. He shook his head and laughed slightly. "Sorry.. I guess that's more... than you probably expected. Uhm... I'm not adverse to talking about it... because I guess I like being someone who seems human, not like someone who's just trying to help people without understanding them. That's why I don't expect people to tell me things when I ask them. I mean.. I love it when they do.. But when I say I understand, that's what I mean." Theo smiled slightly. Waving his hand a bit. He was feeling a bit awkward himself now.
"You know, parents suck a lot of the times. But it's really great to have them. Anyway.. I'm from San Francisco.. Well.. if you've moved a lot. Favorite place you lived in? Or one you most relate to home." Theo leaned in a bit, resting his jaw on his fist again. Trying to relax a bit more. Because really, why was he so anxious? "Ah.. Well my dog is going to be arriving in the next few days here. Wanna meet him?" Theo leaned sideways a bit with a smile. He was just enjoying talking to someone in awhile. Honestly surprised he'd just told a patient so much about himself already. "I'm really sorry I talk so much. If I'm annoying you can let me know. I dislike making people uncomfortable.. but uh.. Hey I know I told you about my past.. but don't let anyone else know? Not many of my co-workers know and I want to keep it that way. Not that I distrust you. You're a pretty cool kid." Theo smiled a bit again, rocking too far sideways and tumbling off the bed. Thankfully it wasn't overly high and had him laughing on the floor silently. Covering his face because it was so classic of him to do that.
