It was true. He had met some pretty weird people, but they probably thought they were normal. Some people thought he was weird, and he believed himself to be normal. The reason he was here was because people thought he was abnormal, so he knew people thought that about himself.
Jake smiled and looked down when Theo said he should have expected his question. As he explained what he did, and how he found out about his depression, and all of that interested him. He wouldn’t want to help people in this way, or even be able to, because he was too anxious and unable to talk to people without thinking the worst. “It sounds cool, and good, but at the same time bad… Does that even make sense?” he asked quietly before shaking his head and leaning against his wall.
“It’s nice to know more about you, then you know about me. Another Orderly was all ‘I’m going to take you under my wing’ and he knows everything about me, and I don’t even know his name. It’s awkward and I don’t want to deal with it” he said before shrugging. He smiled when he talked a lot. He loved it because he could be quiet, and even if need be, he could just add in little points when he wanted.
“Parents suck most of the time, if not all” he said before shrugging and thinking for a minute. He wasn’t sure which place was his favorite. “I’m not sure which I consider a favorite, but England was interesting, Maine was cold, New York City was too busy for me, and then Florida before I came here wasn’t very fun” he said before looking up at him. “What kind of dog is it? I’m sure I’ll just be awkward around him though. I don’t really know how it’d react to me anyways” he said before looking back down.
Jake shook his head when Theo said that he’s annoying, or if he’s annoying to let him know. Jake didn’t think he was annoying, it was relaxing not to have to talk, or have to worry about someone judging him, but he was sure Theo was judging him anyways. “It’s fine, I won’t tell” he said quietly. If he didn’t want him to share that little information he wouldn’t. The second Jake turned his attention to the bandage again, he heard a thump, before looking up and not seeing him. He looked over the edge of the bed and laughed as he saw Theo on the floor with his hands covering his face. “The edge was right there by the way”

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo kept on laughing as he lay on the floor a bit longer. His stomach started hurting, so he just kind of slipped his hand over his head, arms now splayed over his head on the floor. Theo had stopped laughing until Jake commented about the edge of the bed and started right up again. Theo pushed himself back up as he finished laughing for the second time. Well at least today was starting to already be good. Inhaling deeply as if he'd lost his breath with all the laughing. "Well, you know I guess I decided to give gravity a pop quiz. Good news, it passed with flying colours!" Theo started laughing again, but not quite as hard as he pulled himself back onto his feet. Climbing back and sitting in the same position he'd been before falling off the bed.
He shrugged slightly. Remembering Jake had said he'd probably be awkward around Link. To be honest, he really didn't think the dog would care much if the kid was awkward around him, because he just didn't do anything. Theo had a wide smile on his face though about the whole thing. "Well then, I'll have Link swing by your room sometime with me and see if you're in. I don't really think he's going to care too much if you're awkward. He's a pretty interesting dog. Used to be a seeing eye dog before we got him. But really he just sits and stares at things a lot. But he's also. I dunno asks for attention a lot. I'm sure Link will like you. I mean, I like you, so why wouldn't my dog? He's a golden retriever." He nodded a bit matter of factly, looking off into space as he explained his dog.
Which was still on his list as his absolute best friend. Link was rather enjoyable to be around. "That .. .didn't make any sense. Uhh explain which is good and which is bad? Also.. what you're talking about." Theo's eyes came back and fell on Jake as he let out a slight chuckle again, his smile grew wider once more. Nodding a bit acknowledging when he said it was nice to know more about Theo than he knew about Jake. Quirking his brow slightly when he heard what the other Orderly said. "Well... as weird as that is, or irritating. He's probably trying to do a really good job... I think that happens a lot with me though. People tend to know more about me than I know about them. I think it's because I'm not familiar with the term 'quiet.' His lips twitched slightly to a smirk as he exhaled a long intake of breath.
"I do wanna know more about you though. S'not all one sided that way... Ohhh! You've been to England? What's it like. I'm already jealous. I've been stuck in San Francisco most of my life. I think the most exciting thing that's ever happened was the time my mom's and I got lost in Mexico. Which is a bad place to get lost in this particular city if you have both parents afraid of cows." Theo smirked a bit at the memory, but he finally seemed to settle a bit as he glanced back at Jake. "Sooo, tell me a bit more about yourself. I hate being the awkward duck. I'm okay if it's the awkward penguin. But ducks are weird. I mean, have you seen their legs, and how they walk.. Sorry .. wayy off topic already." He straightened himself up and scratched the back of his head a bit, glancing away almost shyly. Sometimes he had outbursts like that.

DREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Jake continued laughing as he laughed. He couldn’t help it, it seemed contagious. “Gravity doesn’t enjoy your quizzes… almost like any student loves quizzes” he said before laughing again and continuing to lay down while Theo sat back on the bed. He turned on his side and looked at him before pulling a pillow under his head to be more comfortable. “Are you going to test anything else? What about inertia?” he asked while smirking.
Jake listened as he explained about his dog, who he believed was named Link because he said Link before explaining everything about him. “So he’s a pretty big dog then?” he asked before looking at him again. He didn’t really know how he’d be around dogs, but he hoped he’d be good and that he wouldn’t freak out. “Could he still be used as a seeing eye dog?” he asked as he returned his attention to his lap. He didn’t want to stare, because that was rude and made it awkward.
When he said that it didn’t make any sense he took a deep breath and sighed. He wasn’t doing very well with this. He was actually doing horrible. “Your reckless years… It sounds fun to be a stuntman and do all that dangerous stuff, but I guess it’s bad at the same time since you’re being dangerous. But it still sounds fun” he said quietly. He was upset that he didn’t make sense before and that he probably looked ridiculous making himself seem stupid.
Jake laughed when he said he wasn’t familiar with the term quiet. “It just seems weird to me that I don’t know his name, but he knows everything about me. It makes me uneasy too, so that probably doesn’t help anything. I know they probably don’t hire crazy people, but it just makes me worry.” he said before his voice slowly dropped to a whisper towards the end.
“England is nice. Cold, and rainy, and the weather doesn’t really change, but otherwise it’s nice. It’s so much more different there compared to here, not that I can really complain” he said before shrugging. Jake laughed as he talked about the awkward duck and penguin. “Um… What do you want to know? I don’t really know what to say. But I’ll answer it if I’m not uncomfortable with it… If that helps any” he said quietly.

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo cracked up again as Jake asked him about inertia. Testing the laws of physics, it seemed to be such a nerdy joke too. Theo's grin remained in place as he nodded a bit to the stunts comment. "Well, I'm pretty sure that the laws of physics and I are pretty familiar. The only one I dislike and test a lot is gravity though. So you know, the other's are pretty cool." His smile widened again and his teeth made a slight appearance. Although brief since he had this self-conscious thing about them. Inhaling slightly, he did miss and enjoy his time as a stunt man. Reckless, dangerous, but overall it was interesting. "Oh yeah, it was wicked crazy fun. If I wasn't dealing with explosions it was high-speed amateur car stunts. Which is actually how I got hurt. I was working for a friend, so he wasn't exactly professional... and I was a I dunno, young kid right out of high school or so. Anyway, the biggest lesson I learned doing that was, jumping between moving cars, is extremely hard to do because of well physics." Theo laughed a bit again, that was the stunt that landed him in the hospital for three months and set him back another three for physical therapy.
All in all, he was pretty lucky to walk out of that alive. When Jake asked about his dog's size, he nodded a bit before shrugging. Link wasn't super big, but he was pretty big. Theo had a bit of a smirk on his face now. "You'll also find out I really, really love my dog. Uh, Link is .. I guess he's pretty big. Not like massive big.. but he's not exactly medium. He can definitely still be used as a seeing eye dog. It's actually kind of a joke with some of my friends I'll end up needing him for that some day. But overall he's a teddy-bear. I swear if you hug him, it's like you're his best friend ever."
Theo shrugged a bit, not sure how to respond to one of his supposed co-workers actions. He wore a thoughtful smile though, relaxing quite a bit more now that his own medication was helping him. "Yeah that's definitely weird. I don't think they hire crazy people, but uh they hired me so. I can't really say that haha. I guess though I don't count since I'm not as bad as I used to be." Theo watched as Jake lay down, making himself pretty comfortable. Smiling a bit more when he said that England's weather was pretty much the same often. Rainy, chilly. He still wanted to visit though.
"Eh, I think I'll still go and visit anyway. I'm still jealous. I'm gonna go see Stonehenge with Link someday. I'd visit the Bermuda Triangle too, but uh you know I like not disappearing." He laughed again, he was a pretty big dork when it came right down to it. Theo contemplated now, a question he could ask Jake. It was pretty obvious that Theo didn't mind talking about his past anyway, but Jake seemed a bit more hesitant. That was fine too. ".. You let me ask questions, and I really won't ever shut up. Uhm.. I dunno .. Favorite.. things I guess.. foods, colour... Star Trek character. Or Star Wars, I do both." Theo flashed another smile and the live long and prosper sign with his hand. "I'm a pretty big dork, so uhh.. yeah I dunno... I could tell you a lot of stories about high school too..."

[style=font-family: times; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: lowercase; color: #989898; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;] 373 WORDS FOR THEOhe doesn't have a favorite food because he hates food. DREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Jake smiled when Theo laughed at his joke. It made him feel easy instead of anxious and uptight. It meant that he did something good, and not bad. When he mentioned getting hurt Jake bit his lip and frowned. “How badly were you hurt?” he asked before looking up at him. He wanted to know more about what he did for that job because it seemed interesting. Everyone loved an adrenaline rush, and being able to do it for a living would be amazing. It sounded like something he would like, but then he’d have to be on camera, and as the line goes, the camera adds ten pounds, and he was already grossly fat that he couldn’t put up with that.
Jake smiled when he said if he hugged the dog, that Link would love him. “So my friendship with Link is pretty cheap? Hugs and food probably right?” he said while smiling. It was true. Most animals would love you if you just gave them some of your food. “I don’t think you’re crazy. You’d be more helpful with certain people that are patients here because you’ve dealt with it before. You’ve beaten it, and are continuing to beat it, so you’re a success story in a way” he said before shrugging. If he was suffering from depression talking to Theo about it would probably help. But he wasn’t suffering from anything. He was just fat and disgusting and he was trying to fix it.
“Stonehenge isn’t even that interesting after a while! You visit it once and everyone’s all ‘oh my it’s so amazing’ and you possibly get trampled at how busy it is during some months, then you just get bored of it!” he said before shaking his head. “I was dragged to it once…. I had more fun running around the fields surrounding it than actually seeing stonehenge... But I was younger” he said before laughing.
“I don’t really have a favourite food, um red and black are good colours, I like star wars more, well really I’ve only seen star wars, so I like Anakin before he became Vader, because he was cool until then” he sid before shrugging. “I like stories! But whatever is best”

I break habits Just to fall in love But I do it On designer drugs Theo actually settled a bit as Jake's expression changed. He was a bit more uncomfortable now at the frown and question. It wasn't something he got often, not a reaction usually. People didn't question it too much, well when he mentioned it anyway. Kind of keep to yourself in a way. He smiled a bit nervously and stretched his back slightly, rubbing the back of his head. "Er... kinda... yeah... It nearly killed me. I was unconscious for a month, and wasn't discharged for two, then had three more months of physical therapy and a specific order to not set foot on the stunt scene again. They thought I was suicidal then though, so..." He still felt awkward at the sort of compliment.
Theo just shook his head a bit shyly, he was indefinitely still a modest person even when so obnoxious. He glanced down now, his face turned a bit red as his hair fell in his face and he chuckled a bit. "Yeah... I've been told that.. I'm not a success story though. I'm just someone who isn't ready to give up yet. The day I decide that, is the day I'll stop being one of those 'success stories.' " It wasn't that he was being pessimistic. It was more the writer in him, more like telling a story than anything else.
He glanced back up finally having returned to his normal colour. Nodding with a now more easy smile as the awkward feeling faded quickly. "Yeah, I don't think i'd be able to pry him away from you if you gave him food AND love. But he's pretty quick to gain friendship. Link's a lovely dog." Theo cracked up again at the comment of Stonehenge being boring. Covering his mouth slightly, his abs were really starting to hurt from all the laughing. It'd been quite sometime since he'd met someone with such a similar sense of humor. "Well, I won't be living there. Just visiting it once so that it doesn't get all boring and all that. Not just there though... Rome is another big one. "
He nodded a bit and started laughing again over the star wars comments. Theo absolutely already adored Jake's personality. It was so refreshing, he was so simple and so complex, and so.. real. "Eh, even if I'm only a few years older than you.. different generations I guess to a point. My mom's were hugeee trekkie fans. You gotta feel for Anikin though.. It's not like he wanted that choice, but I guess I think of it as, he wanted to live and felt guilty over what he'd done or whatever. It's been forever since I've seen the movies... It's such lovely story though... " Theo smiled a bit though again. Nu uh, purple is wayyy better."
