Jordan walked to the check in area. He had volunteered to help the orderlies by delivering papers back and forth between them, showing new kids to their rooms, and doing whatever else he was asked. He had nothing better to do and it was a pretty good distraction. Plus, maybe he could make some new connections -no, he told himself. He shouldn't let himself get in contact with the other drug users, not matter the temptation.
He had just returned from taking a few kids to their rooms before returning to the front, he was almost ready to stop for the day and decided he'd get a few more tasks done before calling it a day.

Dropped off out of my mom's SUV into the heat. The sun beat down on me. The long sleeves I was wearing seemed foolish. Well I don't wanna give away to many secrets And here I was. Entering this new place, bags in hand.1 bag from home, empty of any objects that could be sharp. After I was searched by my family I had everything taken from me. The doors open and a small gust of cold air rushes out. No way I'm gonna be bringing in anything sharp. I drop the bas for a second before looking around. The front desk seems freshly left. Coffee still steaming from the cup on the table. Probably just on break I sit in a chair and the thoughts come to me. Rushing in like a tsunami. I just wanna leave this place. But I know the cameras already see me. I wait for someone and I don't wait long. I see one guy round the bend into the entrance hall. "Hey, you, can you help me out here? I'm new." I say quietly, half hoping he doesn't hear me.

Jordan flipped around, hearing a small voice over his shoulder. "Hello!" he said happily but also quite quietly as well, "I can help you with anything you want. Finding your room, checking in, locating the food. Whatever tickles your fancy." He smiled and his a slight bobble to his head as he spoke, as if he were sailing a boat.

Well there goes that. "Hi, I'm checking in here. New patient, all that." I say making eye contact with the boy now. I hold up one of my bags and say "You couldn't be one to help could you?" I smirk with a sense of innocence

A smirk. An interesting choice of a facial expression. Jordan smiled politely, "yes, i'm the one. Get your papers filled out at the desk over there," he point to a desk with some orderlies behind it, "And return here to be taken to your room!"

"Thank You" I say as I head over to the desk and start filling out my papers. Filling out all the details until the paper asks about self injury. I stutter for a second before an orderly says "Just answer truthfully. We'll find it out anyway." I sigh and roll my eyes ever so slightly. The cold air keeping me awake as I check the yes box and continue. I keep filling it out and when I'm done, the young orderly women looks up for a second and takes my paper. "Mr. Dawson over there will show you to your room." I turn back around and look at him. "I'm ready." I say under my breath.
