Did Ripley really follow the rules ever, though? He light the tobacco filled cigarette, placing it between his lips and inhaling deeply, easily blowing the smoke out of his nostrils without taking a second breath. He closed his eyes, kicking his shoes against the stone path, taking long drags of the cigarette and blowing the smoke in the air. He flicked the ash off the end carelessly before taking another long drag and slowly releasing the smoke just barely from the corner of his mouth. He watched the smoke disappear into the humid Florida air, a small look of distaste crossing his face. He finished off the last of the cigarette as he walked, tossing the stub on the path and grinding it between the stones with his shoe. He removed another cancer stick from the pack, immediately lighting it up again. For a moment he wondered why everyone seemed to be inside today. It was a beautifully muggy, stupid, disgustingly hot day here in Florida, shouldn't everyone be enjoying it? Ripley snorted, rolling his eyes at his own sarcasm. He silently sucked the carcinogens from his cigarette as he shuffled casually on his way, occasionally blowing out large billows of smoke. After a while he could hear noises behind him, and he moved to the side, leaning against a tree placed at the side of the path. He waited for the person to appear, and hopefully pass, as Ripley wasn't exactly in the mood to play with anyone today-not even Simon, really, and that was Ripley's new favorite past time. these dry bones cry for you |

He didn’t really know what to do, but he knew that the orderlies weren’t fully paying attention to the kids that were around because how could they keep all the level threes apart from the others? Let alone be able to distinguish which kids were level threes? It didn’t make any sense to him.
He kicked a rock that was on the path and continued before seeing a bench. He didn’t want to even be here, so he knew he wasn’t going to voluntarily walk up to a orderly and ask them questions. He wanted to be back with Erik. Erik was the only person that would understand him, and the only person he could truly trust. He could smell the cigarette smoke and he smiled. Erik use to smoke. He remembered the taste of the cigarettes on his lips and the smell of the smoke and couldn’t help but get excited that Erik was around.
He noticed a guy smoking against a tree and his smile faded. It wasn’t Erik. He didn’t look like Erik or even hold himself like Erik did. The entire time that he was thinking about Erik though he was staring at the boy. Not even realizing what this could possibly do. Some people don’t like being stared at, but he couldn’t help it. He couldn’t break the contact, and just kept staring because of the cigarette.

You have got to be kidding me. Ripley couldn't help but to visibly roll his eyes at the person in front of him. Being completely honest with himself, he couldn't even really tell if he was looking at a guy or a girl at first. Ripley just stared back at the person, occasionally blowing smoke from his nostrils and letting his eyes scan over their body. After what seemed like an eternity, and several all over scans, plus some analyzing, Ripley decided it was, in fact, a boy he was looking at. He wasn't sure it was the most masculine boy, and he was really hoping said boy didn't like girls because if he did, he was out of luck wearing pants like that. Finally Ripley flicked the last of the ash off his cigarette, tossing the butt onto the stone path in front of him. He watched the boy for a while longer, furrowing his brows before pulling another cigarette from the pack in his back pocket, placing it between his lips before speaking, "Great day to be out, eh mate?" Ripley snorted before lighting his third cigarette and blowing the smoke towards the boy. "Haven't seen you around. You fresh meat here?" Ripley raised an eyebrow, wondering just how many newcomers there really were coming in. Obviously they weren't getting many of those free level one-ers much, and if they were then Ripley was convinced they were spending way too much time hanging around here for their own good. Ripley didn't mind all the new people, especially if they were cute guys, but it was getting just a tad bit cramped around here. He could only imagine the group therapy sessions that were to begin. He figured before long they'd be held in the gym or the cafeteria because there were so many people who had to attend. Some around here said group was mandatory, but Ripley called bullshit since he hadn't been to a session since he'd arrived-not that he would have done well with other teens, what with being labeled a sociopath. Before the boy could answer his question, though, Ripley interjected one last time. "I'm Ripley, by the way. Ripley James, at your service. |

He bit his lip and looked down before he heard him speak. When he lit up another cigarette Kyle followed his movements. From bringing the lighter to the end of the cigarette, to moving the lighter away and pulling the smoke in. He smiled when he blew the smoke out before coughing when it reached him. Erik never let him get near the smoke, although he did smell it sometimes, but having the cloud enter into his lungs stung a bit and he didn’t understand why. “I guess today is good” he said quietly not looking away yet, but waiting until after the coughing stopped to answer.
Kyle was confused by the kids next statement. Fresh meat? Did that mean something else than what he was thinking? “Fresh meat?” he mumbled before shaking his head and looking at him. “I was just brought here?” he answered quietly, his voice never raising higher than a loud whisper unless he was talking to Erik, or yelling at people to leave him alone, which only happened once.
Kyle smiled slightly when the kid mentioned his name. Ripley James. It was interesting, but not for the reason he was probably thinking about. “We have something in common!” he said letting his voice get slightly louder. “We share a last name! I’m Kyle though” he said before biting his lip. Was it a good idea to tell people who he was? Erik told him that he shouldn’t tell people his name and tell them to call him Ky, since it resembled his name, and it wasn’t something that people would pick up on to figure out who he really was. “I shouldn’t have said anything…. I said too much…. I should just go” he said before looking away and turning. He didn’t want to upset Erik, even if he couldn’t see what he was doing, when they got back together Erik would punish him for making this big of a mistake because then someone could take him away from Erik again. Kyle didn’t want that at all and hoped this Ripley wouldn’t say anything.

Ripley wasn't about to let this kid just walk away from him. He stepped forward, grabbing the boy roughly by the wrist before he could walk away. He used more strength than he had meant to, but he didn't care at this point. If there was one thing Ripley hated, it was when people walked away in the middle of a conversation without good reason. "Hey now, I wasn't finished with the conversation. There's no leaving yet." Ripley gave his signature smirk before giving the boy's wrist a tight squeeze and stepping back away a few inches. He surveyed the boy once more, analyzing the fact they shared a name. The boy didn't have any sort of accent, and he didn't look in any way like Ripley, so he mostly ruled out being related to this other teen. Plus he was sure he would have been tortured endlessly about the fact he had another brother who wasn't there, who would have been better, who would have been smarter and more handsome and Ripley would be in last place just like always. Ripley let his thoughts get the better of him for that moment and he bit down on the end of the cigarette in his mouth, clenching his fists. The paper crunched softly between his teeth and Ripley spat out the cigarette, stomping on it forcefully and grunting. "Of fucking course you'd be better, wouldn't you? Everyone is better than stupid, useless, son of a bitch William. |
[/color]" Ripley growled, stomping the cigarette into oblivion, fists still clenched in anger. He panted softly, feeling the weight of the razor blade necklace against the scar on his collarbone. He wanted to use it so bad at this moment, he wanted to rip open his skin and let all the rage leak out slowly so he could feel semi-normal again. Then he remembered the presence of the other teen. Ripley's head snapped up and he stared at the other boy, his blue eyes not showing any emotion. " None of that just happened, got it? Don't rat me out."
