personality: Jessica’s nickname is Barbie. That is because on the outside she is perfect. Everything is all together and things are just great for her. She is pretty smart and confidant. She is the girl that people hate because nothing is ever wrong and everything is always perfect…
That’s the way it seems but the truth is that on the inside Jessica is falling apart. She suffers from anxiety that practically cripples her. She is also ruled by her eating disorder. Jessica knows it a good day when she can eat 300 calories or less. Jessica thrives on people thinking that she is perfect. That’s all she wants because that is what she has been taught to achieve. Her parents have always told her she can do whatever she wants as long as the image she is putting out there is perfect.
Jessica does enjoy cheerleading but she also enjoys music and writing. They are a sort of escape from what is going on in her life. She loves rock music and reading darker books but would never admit it to anyone because rock music and dark clothes don’t make someone popular.
brief history: Jessica was born in Bakersfield CA, an only child to two loving parents. From the time she could walk, Jessica was enrolled in a cheerleading program. Her mother, Katie was cheerleading captain in high school and she believed that the best thing a young girl can do is to be a cheerleader. From that young age Jessica was told perfection was everything. She learned at a young age that she was good at being a cheerleader. She advanced very quickly and her coach took a liking to her. That was where Jessica learned to become anorexic.
When she was little, Jessica loved food but when she started hitting puberty her coach told Jessica that she either had to start losing weight or get kicked off the team. It was then that Jessica’s coach told her about how to get by on not eating and how to use supplements to keep her going. Yet it never seemed like enough. Soon Jessica’s toughest critic became herself. Suddenly she was never good enough. She was 14 years old the first time that she picked up a razor blade.
The day before a large competition Jessica had her first anxiety attack. She punched a mirror causing several cuts on her hands. It was then that she realized that the pain took her anxiety away. From there she was hooked. Her uniform was long sleeved and it was easy to cover the marks she was making on herself. At 15 her parents had another child and it was then that things got even worse. Jessica’s parents expected her to help take care of the new baby. The pressure just made Jessica want to cut more.
It wasn’t long before her parents found out, but instead of getting Jessica help they simply packed up the family and moved to Nevada. The Bullicks could not deal with the thought of all of their friends knowing what Jessica was doing. At her new school Jessica did whatever she could to fit in. The pressure was a lot more at her new school. Before a football game Jessica was stressed out and started going into an anxiety attack. So she cut in the locker room. She didn’t realize how badly she was bleeding until she was out on the field and she passed out. She woke up the next morning in the hospital. It was there that she was told that they wanted to admit her for her problems with self-injury. After much talking from her parents, the hospital decided to send Jessica home. When she got home, Jessica knew that her reputation was ruined when her boyfriend called and told her that the whole school was talking about what had happened. After she got off the phone with him, Jessica took a pair of scissors and when in to the bathroom. She chopped her hair short and then used the scissors to attempt suicide.
After her suicide attempt, Jessica was sent away to Florida. Now she’s the new kid on the block. Jessica feels like she has lost her identity and really isn’t sure how she feels.

roleplay sample: Jessica sat in the admissions office. She wasn't listening to her parents talk to the admissions adviser instead she was looking out the window thinking about the past few days, How did she get here? How did everything spiral down so quickly? She looked from the window, down to the white bandages peeking out from under her red sweater. Jessica reached down and pulled her sweater past the bandage so she didn't have to see it anymore. She listened to the sound of pen on paper as her parents signed all the paperwork. A few days ago, everything was perfect. She was popular, she had a boyfriend and now that was all gone. Everything was gone. She peeked at the paperwork and she caught a glance at her disorders. Under the disorders was listed: Anorexia Nervosa. She blinked a few times before she said, "I am not anorexic. I am a cheerleader I have to keep my weight down that's the way its always been." She looked at her mother attempting to catch her eye but her mother just wouldn't look at her. "Your the one who always bought me my supplements to help me. Its not an eating disorder. Mom you have always helped me" Her mother got a deer in the headlights sort of work, she attempted to stammer something out but couldn't get words to form. The admissions woman took the paperwork away with a smile, Jessica could tell she was trying to be nice as she explained that the patient wasn't supposed to see that paperwork. Jessica slumped back into her seat. Everything was her fault all of the sudden. That was the way it was because she embarrassed her parents. Because she broke face. Jessica sighed and continued to look out the window.
Before long a nurse returned with Jessica's bag that had been checked. She as assigned room 100 and it was time to say goodbye, but Jessica didn't want to say goodbye she just walked past her parents. She was angry that they just ratted her out like this. It just wasn't fair. She heard her mother cry as she walked with the nurse to her room. She put her bag down on the bed and looked out the window in the room. She refused to call it her room. It wasn't her room and it wouldn't be her room. Jessica wrapped her fingers around the bars and sighed. She felt a few tears slip down her face. She quickly sniffed and wiped them away. She left the room and headed for the common room. She sank down into one of the seats and looked out the window. She sighed and ran her fingers down her skirt. She didn't belong here. Her hair was still chopped short and jagged but the rest of her looked perfect, out of place. She was going to hate it here.
