ELIZABETH MCKENZIE COLLINS
your secrets keep you sick,

Elizabeth is distant, and more of a loner than a people person. She’s often found sitting in the corner, staring off into space on one of her highs, or attempting to tune everyone out so she can have peace. She’s eighteen years old, addicted to alcohol and narcotics, and has been raised in numerous foster homes around New York City. She’s a bit of a masochist because of her past and her addiction, but she tries to tune that part of her out. She doesn’t have many friends, or really, many people she can truly call friends. She has acquaintances, people she can hold a conversation with, maybe a few laughs, but no one who truly knows what’s going on inside her head, what makes her happy, what her past was like. That probably means she won’t have many enemies either, because she doesn’t talk to people usually. She’s not totally mean but she’s definitely not nice to most people, so enemies might be here and there. It just depends on if you can tolerate how Elizabeth is. She won’t have many lovers though, except people she sleeps with. She’s never had a real relationship, never been on a date of any sort besides a party that involved heavily drinking or drugs or things of that nature. Elizabeth is scared of any true commitment, and has huge trust issues. She tends to push people away when there are any feelings involved as well.

ROMAN ATTICUS PIERCE
your lies keep you alive,

Roman is seventeen years old and is a pathological liar. He tells so many lies that he starts to believe them, no matter how outrageous they sound to others. He tries to be as nice as possible, but his constant, impulsive and uncontrollable lying gets in the way. He grew up in an extremely overprotective household, which was where his lying started. He has extremely low self-esteem, and lies to try and feel better about himself. Roman probably won’t have many friends because of how much he lies. He would probably push people away without trying to. Behind the lies he tells, he’s actually a very nice guy. But you have to stick around for awhile, and wait for the lies to stop to see how nice he is. Roman will probably have way more enemies than friends. Considering how much he lies, people probably won’t like him very much. He tries to be nice, but his lies usually get in the way. As for lovers, he is a seventeen year old guy after all, so he’s going to have a few of these. If someone can stick it out and try to get past all of the lies, a relationship might work, but mostly just sex for him.

IRIS JOSEPHINE GREY

Iris is twenty-four years old and is an orderly here. She is very witty and sarcastic. She can stand up for herself, and can be very defensive if she thinks someone is insulting her or insulting someone close to her. She can be very mean without realizing it, and comes off very strong when people are first meeting her. She’s got a very deadpan sense of humor, which people usually think is her being rude. She’s extremely blunt and a bit bitchy at times, but that’s just the way she is. She doesn’t think about what she says and words usually just fall out of her mouth without her thinking about them. When she’s around a patient though, she’s very sweet and kind and polite. She can also be a bit of a pushover around them. She’ll probably have a lot of friends but probably not many that are very close to her. She doesn’t trust people often, although she does befriend them. She’ll have a few friends who she’s extremely close to that she’ll share her secrets with and whatnot, but only a few. She’ll probably have more enemies than friends, because of how rude she can seem, and because of blunt she is. She could easily offend people who are sensitive like that, even if she isn’t meaning to. Iris isn’t very good with relationships, so lovers would be few, if any. Occasionally she’ll let herself be vulnerable enough to have a nice relationship with someone, but that isn’t often. She really isn’t to the one night stand type of thing either, so none of those.

SIMON ANDREW DAVIS

Simon is eighteen years old and is a suicidal level three with an eating disorder. He is very shy and fidgety around new people. He doesn’t know how to act around people he’s just meeting, or even people he’s known for years. He stutters slightly when he talks, just because he gets so nervous. It’s not that noticeable when he first speaks, if he only says his name or just a few words. If he actually starts talking to you, it’s very noticeable, and he hates it because he gets picked on quite a bit because of it. He’s very depressed because of how much he is bullied as well. He refuses to take the antidepressants he’s given though, because he doesn’t believe he needs to take them. He’s a bit stubborn, but is more of a pushover, and tends to back down from arguments, even when he’s right. He tends to buckle under pressure. Simon has only ever had one friend, Jack, who he was in love with until Jack committed suicide to get away from his abusive parents. Simon wanted to commit suicide as well, but was stopped just in time, and that’s why he’s locked up in rehab.

ANNABELLE JOANA SPENCER

Anna is twenty-three years old and is an orderly. She is a very sharp, witty and temperamental person. She has a very sharp tongue when she's mad, or if someone messes with her or her family. She could be considered a workaholic, because she puts all of her time into her work. She doesn't have much time for friends or a boyfriend, and honestly she's okay with that. She got hired for a reason, because she's very dedicated to her work. She's also very intelligent, and got one of the highest grades in her class. She can be very stern with some of her patients, only because she truly cares about them and wants to see them get better. She believes in that tough love sort of detox, and that's why she's so hard on them. She's a rather nice person though, when she's not mad at you or having one of her mood swings. Anna comes from a very big family, with nearly a dozen siblings. She never really had any close friends because she considered her siblings to be her family. All boyfriends she had never really went anywhere because of how dedicated she was to her schooling and to her family, and because she was a ‘stick in the mud’.

NOAH HUNTER JACKSON
i shook the hand of doubt,

Noah is an asshole. He’s a cocky, self-absorbed asshole. He only thinks about himself, taking only his needs into account. No one else matters to him, but himself. He doesn’t even care about his family, only about his little sister who is his whole world because he practically raised her. He’s very egotistical and cocky and believes he can get anyone he wants, and that’s basically true. He’s very attractive, and he’s well aware of this. He has an extremely bad temper, and if he doesn’t get what he wants he’s prone to episodes of aggression. He’s known to throw and break things of his own and those belonging to someone else. Noah is nineteen and is a sex addict, and also has rage. Recently he was convicted of aggravated assault and rape and was sentenced three years in county jail, but the judge took ‘mercy’ on him and sent him to White Springs instead. He comes from a very broken home, his father a raging, abusive alcoholic and his mother a bitch who left him and his little sister with their father, so the ‘therapists’ think his addiction and his anger problems stem from that for some reason. Noah, of course, thinks this is complete rubbish, but no one ever really listens to Noah anymore.

i can just feeel the onslaught of facepalming peri will be doing with this kid. he'll believe in him and trust him and even believe him if it'll get him to trust him. buuut i bet it's gonna be a long, hard journey.

maybe peri's lost something inconsequential but still meaningful enough for it to semi-disrupt his dayyy, and like, roman stumbles upon peri trying to find it. tohhhtally unaware of the fact that he's talking to a pathological liar (and all distracted and rummaging around, oblivious like a stupid idiot), peri and roman engage in a completely lighthearted, but only half true conversation.

I could see him trying to be friends with Roman. But if ever he found out he was lied to, it'd be the end of that. Or maybe it wouldn't be the end, but Nate wouldn't trust him. I love a creative liar when I see one. And you're one of them. I don't care what the truth is about you. The way you come up with stories on the spot like that amazes me. Some people view your pathology of lying a burden or a curse, but I see it as a gift.

Aside from the lying, I don't mind you as a person at all. We've grown to become friends with each other. I actually await the time when at lunch or break or group therapy to see you and listen to your stories; your lies. They amuse me in a good way.
